Eskrigg Nature Reserve

Location

The Reserve is located 1.6 miles (2.57 km) south-west of Lockerbie Town Centre,on the east side of South Turnmuir Plantation. (OS map ref. N.Y. 126805)

Getting to the Reserve from Lockerbie:

Take the A709 out of Lockerbie, heading towards Dumfries. On the right, about 350m beyond the 30mph sign, you will come to the Dryfesdale Cemetery and the Dryfesdale Lodge Visitors' Centre. If travelling by car, you can park in the cemetery car park.

Opposite the Visitors' Lodge there is a single bar gate into the woods opposite. Inside the gate there is an Information Board which gives details about the Reserve and Woodland Walks.

The reserve is 400m down the forest road beyond the Information Board and then left along a gravel path.

Leaflets about 'Eskrigg Nature Reserve and Woodland Walks' are also available at the Dryfesdale Lodge Visitors' Centre, Lockerbie Library and Hotels and Guest Houses in the town.
